Crafting items in Palworld is vital for success, and having Pals do the hard work allows you to focus on other tasks.
Several starter Pals in Palworld can help you when crafting, like Cattiva, Pengullet, and Tanzee. But those pals, due to their numerous Work Skills, can easily find themselves getting distracted by other tasks, meaning the more complex items take longer to be built.
If you’re finding that the Pals currently at your base are taking far too long with their Handiwork tasks, grabbing one of these Pals can speed up the process.
All Handiwork Pals in Palworld, ranked by crafting skill
Handiwork is one of the most common Work Suitability traits you’ll find in the entire Paldeck. There are nearly 50 Pals—including Fusions—that can craft items at a Workbench, but some are simply better than others. Pals with higher levels in Handiwork will craft at a faster speed than their lower-level counterparts, so as you progress through the game, you’ll likely want to sub out the Pals you caught early in your playthrough with better ones.
Below is a comprehensive list of all the Pals in Palworld with the Handiwork skill and their level, as well as the rank we’ve assigned them.

Best Handiwork Pal for crafting items in Palworld
Anubis
Anubis is the best Handiwork Pal for crafting items in Palworld because it boasts Handiwork level four, making this particular Pal a beast when you have plenty of items to be crafted. But catching Anubis is not easy and requires plenty of preparation, which is why many players are opting to breed Anubis instead.
While Anubis also has Transporting level two and Mining level three Work Suitability, in our experience, crafting has always taken priority for Pals at the base, and they’ll immediately drop any task they’re currently doing to help. However, it does mean when you’re not crafting, Anubis is still helping in several ways.
- Element: Ground
- Partner Skill: Guardian of the Desert
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level four), Mining (level three), Transporting (level two)
- Possible Drops: Bone, Large Pal Soul, Innovative Technical Manual
- Hunger: 6/10
Best late-game Handiwork Pals for crafting items in Palworld
Verdash
Verdash is another Pal who is great to call upon when you need crafting done at your base in Palworld and has a variety of other Work Suitabilities, making it an all-around workhorse that can help keep things running smoothly.
Whenever crafting is needed, Verdash and other Pals with Handiwork Work Suitability will focus on helping. But when there are no crafting tasks to complete, Verdash can chip in with Planting, Lumbering, Transporting, and Gathering.
- Element: Grass
- Partner Skill: Grassland Speedster
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level three), Planting (level two), Transporting (level two), Lumbering (level two), Gathering (level three)
- Possible Drops: Bone, Leather
- Hunger: 3/10
Lunaris
Lunaris is another strong Pal for Handiwork that is tough to catch because it can only be found in one location and is a level 32 boss fight, so it’s not a Pal you’ll be able to add to your collection immediately.
While Lunaris is capable of helping with other tasks at your base, its Work Suitability for Transporting and Gathering are both only level one, so there are often many other Pals better suited. If you need assistance crafting, though, Lunaris is perfect.
- Element: Neutral
- Partner Skill: Antigravity
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level three), Gathering (level one), Transporting (level one)
- Possible Drops: Paldium Fragment
- Hunger: 2/10
Wixen
Wixen is a great Pal to have work at your base as it has only a few Work Suitabilities, meaning it’s less likely to get distracted and two of those are only when called upon, so it will be more focused on the tasks you need.
When not helping with Crafting, Vixen will focus on Transporting items to chests with its Transporting level two Work Suitability and also be on hand to help with any Kindling requirements you have. But like Handiwork, this will only take place when you have tasks manually set.
- Element: Fire
- Partner Skill: Lord Fox
- Work Suitability: Kindling (level two), Handiwork (level three), Transporting (level two)
- Possible Drops: Flame Organ, High Grade Technical Manual
- Hunger: 5/10
Best early-game Handiwork Pals for crafting items in Palworld
If you’re new to Palworld, you’ll need early-game Handiwork Pals that can get the job done and are easy to catch. The best Handiwork Pals you can catch early in Palworld are:
- Lamball
- Cattiva
- Lifmunk
Lamball
Lamball shares the top spot with Cattiva since it spawns where players first begin their Palworld journey. It’s one of the easiest-to-catch Pals too, so you won’t need to waste your Pal Spheres on adding it to your team.
It also has levels in Transporting and Farming, which means if there’s nothing to be crafted on your base, it can help out with some of the other chores available.
- Element: Neutral
- Partner Skill: Fluffy Shield
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level one), Transporting (level one), Farming (level one)
- Possible Drops: Wool, Lamball Mutton
- Hunger: 2/10
Cattiva
Like Lamball, Cattiva is found early on in the starting area and has lower catching rates than other Pals in the Paldeck. It spawns quite frequently close to the first fast travel point, and its low levels mean you’re not going to have a tough time defeating it.
Cattiva also boasts the Mining Work Suitability, making it a useful Pal to have. It can ensure you’re getting enough of those precious Stones to build key items as you level up your base.
- Element: Neutral
- Partner Skill: Fluffy Shield
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level one), Transporting (level one), Farming (level one)
- Possible Drops: Wool, Lamball Mutton
- Hunger: 2/10
Lifmunk
Lifmunk doesn’t only do Handiwork jobs. It boasts the Planting, Lumbering, and Gathering abilities as well. It’s also one of the few Pals with the Medicine Production Work Suitability, which allows the Pal to craft medicine while you’re gone.
You can find Lifmunk early, but not as early as Lamball or Cattiva. We found our first Lifmunk in between the Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance and the Fort Ruins fast travel locations.
- Element: Grass
- Partner Skill: Lifmunk Recoil
- Work Suitability: Handiwork (level one), Planting (level one), Lumbering (level one), Medicine Production (level one), Gathering (level one)
- Possible Drops: Berry Seeds, Low Grade Medical Supplies
- Hunger:Â 1/10
Best single skill Handiwork Pal for crafting items in Palworld
Loupmoon
Loupmoon is the only Pal in all of Palworld that has just the Handiwork skill, making them essential for crafting items at a rapid pace at your base. While other Pals can be distracted, this single skill Pal won’t leave the workbench or the assembly line (unless it’s to take a break or go to sleep).
- Element: Dark
- Partner Skill: Claws Glistening in the Dark
- Work Suitability: Handiwork Lv2
- Possible Drops: Bone
- Hunger:Â 5/10
