All new monsters in Lethal Company update v50, detailed

Time to tread carefully.

The v50 monsters have forever changed the sound design of Lethal Company, making this co-op horror not only visually scary but downright terrifying once these entities come into play.

With so many monsters to face off against in Lethal Companyit can be hard to know what can and can’t be killed. What’s worse, these enemies almost trick you into a false sense of security. Continuing the jump-scaring nature of the Coil-Head and Masked, these monsters have multiple layers to their attack that will surely surprise you if you’re unprepared.

Here is everything you need to know about the monsters added in Lethal Company update v50.

All Lethal Company v50 monsters

There are three v50 Lethal Company monsters: the Butler, Old Bird, and Tulip Snake.

The Butler resides in the Facility and can be passive or aggressive, while the Old Bird is an outdoor monster, a mechanical beast that lies in wait until its time to strike. Both monsters most commonly spawn on the two hidden Moons: Embrion and Artifice. Finally, the Tulip Snake is a pest to the daytime looters of The Company.

Here’s everything you need to know about v50’s monsters before venturing into the toughest Lethal Company Facilities.

The Butler

The Butler is an indoor monster with both a hostile and passive state. This monster does not attack groups but can spawn in pairs or more. The Butler(s) wait until you are alone, then switch from a broom to a Kitchen Knife. This is bad news for solo players like myself, but keeping a safe distance prevents it from attacking.

The Butler has an incredibly small health pool. In fact, you can easily kill this guy with a single Shovel hit. But this is not recommended. The Butler explodes into Mask Hornets that are as lethal as Circuit Bees. In a way, the Butler is enticing you to give him a little knock on the head. The Mask Hornets cannot easily be killed or evaded. If the Hornet swarm is activated upon hitting the Butler, you must exit the Facility as soon as possible and use another entrance to continue looting.

Returning to the scene of the crime lets you pick up his Kitchen Knife. The Hornet swarm never disappears, though, so looting in the Facility may prove harder upon killing the Butler.

The Old Bird remains one of the most terrifying additions to Lethal Company; their battle cries are spine-chilling, and they resemble the strange robot toy you can pick up inside the Facility. These monsters predominately hide in plain sight on Embrion and Artifice. They spawn from the get-go but aren’t active (unless you are on an Eclipsed Moon). Instead, the Old Bird stands stationary, turned off until approximately 3pm. This may not seem like a problem until the clock inevitably turns to three, putting you in imminent danger as the Old Birds activate.

The Old Bird is an outdoor monster with immense power. Its weapons include rocket thrusters that allow it to move around the Moon, a headlight to spot employees in the darkness, missile projectiles, and a flamethrower. These monsters are fully kitted out, putting the Forest Keeper to shame. You cannot kill these, so it is best to avoid them. You need to keep a safe distance from them and try not to alert them to your presence. Use the TZP Inhalant or Jetpack to easily bypass them.

What’s worse, removing the Apparatus early activates all Old Birds in the vicinity. So think carefully before taking the Apparatus at the start of your next round.

Tulip Snake

Developer Zeekerss secretly added the Tulip Snake following v50’s Spike Trap release. The Tulip Snake is a small flying creature that loves to hold tightly onto nearby employees. Up to three snakes can grab you at once. Their only attack consists of grabbing and lifting you into the air and dropping you from a height. Unlike the invincible Mask Hornets, the Tulip Snakes aren’t nearly as ferocious and are easily killable with a single Shovel hit.

These creatures are a daytime menace, plaguing Adamance and breathing life into the previously dead Moons. The Tulip Snake often flies near Manticoils, making it hard to distinguish between the two monsters. Acting as the more lethal counterpart to otherwise harmless creatures, the Tulip Snakes hover around the Facility exterior from 8am to 5pm.

Don’t run or jump when one of these creatures has a hold on you. This reduces their chances of picking you up. Tulip Snakes can obstruct your vision, but you can easily knock them off with your trusty Shovel equipped.
