How to unlock the Automatoise mount in FFXIV Dawntrail

You can find multiple mounts to add to your growing collection as you explore Final Fantasy XIV. With the addition of the Dawntraili expansion, there are multiple unique mounts, such as the Automatoise.

The Automatoise is a large, turtle-like creature you find as you explore one of the many dungeons in Dawntrail. Although it appears as an enemy, the mount you unlock is a welcome friend, eager to lead you toward your next adventure. Tracking down the exact location to find it, though, can be a little tough. Here’s what you need to know about how to unlock the Automatoise mount in FFXIV.

Where to get the Automatoise mount in Final Fantasy XIV

The way you go about unlocking the Automatoise mount is in the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail expansion, and it will cost you 3,200 Sacks of Nuts. Sacks of Nuts are a specific currency you can unlock for completing Hunts throughout any Dawntrail region.

You unlock these Hunts by making your way through the Main Scenario Quests in Dawntrail. From here, the Hunt quests become available by speaking with the Wing of Protection Scout NPC and getting the side guest called A New Dawn, a New Hunt. After completing this, the Hunt board becomes available to you, and you can start earning Sacks of Nuts for the Dawntrail region.

When you have the required amount for the Automatoise mount, make your way over to Ryubool Ja in Yuliyollal at coordinates (X:13.9, Y:13.5). They’re the Sacks of Nuts exchange vendor and should have the Automatoise mount for sale for you to purchase. There are other rewards you can also purchase from this vendor, such as the Bluecoat Cat, and several other Materia that you can add to your equipment to enhance your character in FFXIV.

There are more mounts to track down in Final Fantasy XIV and even more difficult Hunts to begin. You might want to try gathering up Mica Magicogs or take on Ttokrrone to earn Ttokrrone Scales.
