How to get Twilight Gemstones in Final Fantasy XIV

Twilight Gemstones don’t have the chance to drop anyway. Instead, they only have a chance of appearing during a specific activity, which means working together with your favorite FFXIV party members and friends to complete it. You’ll also need to be moderately patient, since getting Twilight Gemstones is time-consuming, and you’re not always guaranteed to get it.

Where to get Twilight Gemstones in FFXIV

The only way to get Twilight Gemstones is by making it through to the Cenote Ja Ja Gural dungeon. You can only reach this location by completing Timeworn Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps in FFXIV, a rare item you can acquire while you’re out completing Disciple of the Land activities, such as Mining, Botany, or Fishing. You need to be level 100 at these Jobs for this item to drop.

You also need to make sure you’re doing this in specific regions. Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps don’t appear in an area of FFXIV‘s Dawntrail expansion. You’ll want to search these areas for Timeworn Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps.

After you have at least one Timeworn Br’aaxskin Treasure Map, the next step is to grab a full party of eight FFXIV players and go through it. There’s a chance a portal to the Cenote Ja Ja Gural dungeon can appear, giving you the chance to reach the end. The only way for a Twilight Gemstone to drop during this dungeon, however, is if you reach the final door and defeat the boss. You need to open the various passageways blocking your path, and if you guess incorrectly, you’ll be ejected from the dungeon.

Timeworn Br’aaxskin Treasure Maps have a chance to drop every 18 hours after you find one. Because of this cooldown, it can take you a decent amount of time to gather up enough Twilight Gemstones, with the ultimate goal of exchanging them with the Uah’shepya, a vendor at Solution Nine under the Sublime Curiosities category.
