The long-awaited PC port of Final Fantasy 16 finally has a solid release date that’s coming much sooner than expected. PC gamers will be able to get their hands on the critically acclaimed JRPG as early as next month.Â
FF16 will be available for PC on Sept. 17 through Steam and Epic Games Store, according to the official Square Enix announcement. Both platforms already have a free demo of the opening sequence available to download, and have confirmed that the demo save files can be carried over to the full release.Â
The game is currently available for pre-purchase, and PC players can buy either the base game alone or get the complete edition with both the Echoes of the Fallen and Rising Tide DLCs. The PC port also offers the same pre-order bonuses as the original PS5 release: The Cait Sith’s Charm accessory, Sixteen Bells Orchestrion Roll, and Brave Blade weapon will be offered with early purchases of either the standard or complete editions.
Additionally, we finally have details on the system requirements, and the devs weren’t kidding when they said the specs for the PC release of FF16 would be on the heavier side. The complete edition will need a whopping 170GB of space, according to the official Steam Store listing. Both minimum and recommended specs also require 16GB of RAM, 8GB of VRAM, and an SSD storage device.
With God of War: Ragnarok’s PC port releasing just two days after FF16 as well, prospective PC players may want to look into an upgrade going into September if their computers don’t quite meet the hefty specs of the upcoming PS5 ports.Â
