The Elder Scrolls Castles release countdown: Exact start time and date

This is not your ordinary Elder Scrolls game.

Elder Scrolls: Castles is the latest mobile game offering by Bethesda, and you might be curious about its release date, especially if you are not from the countries where it is already available.

Despite being an Elder Scrolls game, Elder Scrolls: Castles is not like past titles from the renowned franchise. Here, you focus more on building a castle and running a kingdom. It has a colorful, cartoonish look and more chill gameplay vibe compared to the likes of Oblivion and Skyrim, which are both action-packed.

This is the first Elder Scrolls mobile game since the ill-fated Blades. If you’re either a fan of the beloved franchise or someone who just wants to play something new on mobile, read on for everything we know about its release.

Quietly launched in early access back in September 2023, The Elder Scrolls: Castles has finally received an official release date. The Elder Scrolls: Castles will fully release on Sept. 10, 2024. One year into its early access stage, TES: Castles will expand its region range, giving many the opportunity a chance at building their own dynasty, and become a part of a new side to The Elder Scrolls.

While an official release time cannot be given, since Bethesda hasn’t specified, we have set the timer above to a midnight release (12am CT) on Sept. 10, 2024. You can get TES: Castles to auto-install on your device by pre-registering.

Every account that pre-registers The Elder Scrolls: Castles will receive starter benefits for their playthrough. These rewards aren’t automatically applied, however. Instead, the number of registrations must reach a certain milestone for you and others to reap the benefits of pre-registering.

Announced back in January 2024, Bethesda said “the team has been hard at work on it for the last few years and we absolutely adore it.” At the time, Elder Scrolls: Castles early access was exclusively available for mobile users in the Philippines. More regions have been added since then, and many more will join the pack as TES: Castles launches globally in September.

What platforms will The Elder Scrolls: Castles release on?

The Elder Scrolls: Castles will be available globally on iOS and Android on Sept. 10.

As you wait for its release, you can think about whether you want the Emperor’s Pass during your time as ruler, or if you’d like to join the many in obtaining some freebies by pre-registering your account.
