Riot Games is dropping a huge Teamfight Tactics Set 12 update with Patch 14.18, featuring numerous reworks from traits and champions to Augments. Here’s what we know so far.
Big changes are coming to TFT Set 12 in Patch 14.18. Game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer has been dropping teasers for the update through Twitter/X, including a quality-of-life change that will alter the three-star animation time from a few seconds to immediately. Players can also expect an automatic Magnetic Remover on the bench and four-star versions of champions for high-rollers who collect all 27 copies. The Golden Frying Pan also drops in Patch 14.18, and new late-game Charms are getting added to the roster of Set 12 effects.
Patch 14.18 is scheduled to go live on Sept. 11. All early data-mined PBE adjustments are subject to change. I will provide an update to the early notes throughout the week leading up to the official launch and after Mortdog’s Patch Rundown.
Patch 14.18 TFT rolling odds changes
Rolling odds at level eight for four-cost units are being increased from 20 to 25 percent. The change is being implemented to provide players with extra help in finding two-star four-cost champions during the late-game Stages, according to Mortdog.
Patch 14.18 TFT Set 12 trait changes
Several TFT Set 12 traits are getting reworked in Patch 14.18. Some reworks only apply to a breakpoint while others affect the whole trait. Here are all the Set 12 trait changes in Patch 14.18.
Honeymancer trait
The Honeymancer trait in TFT Set 12 was always meant to be a Reroll comp, according to Mortdog. A rework in Patch 14.18 will change the bee baseline to five, with three bees being passed on when a unit perishes.
Rework—Honeymancer units gain five bees, dealing damage every three seconds. Damage from each bee is based on damage a Honeymancer unit deals and takes at each breakpoint, with bees dealing damage twice as often with a seven-piece Honeymancer comp.
- Three: Six percent of damage dealt and two percent of damage taken
- Five: Eight percent of damage dealt and four percent of damage taken
- Seven: 12 percent of damage dealt and six percent of damage taken. Bees deal damage twice as often
Faerie trait
Balance has been applied to the Faerie trait through Patch 14.18, adjusting the breakpoints from 2/4/6/9 to 3/5/7/9. Changes were designed to “open up the Faerie line to be something with options at every breakpoint, said Mortdog.
- Three: Gain 200 health and gain a Queen’s Crown that grants 30 percent damage amplification
- Five: Gain 400 health and gain Queenguard’s armor
- Seven: Gain 600 health and gain a second Queen’s Crown that grants 55 percent damage amplification
- Nine: Gain 900 health. The Queen’s Crowns grant 75 percent damage amplification and all items become Radiant items.
Mage trait
The Mage trait through Patch 14.18 will receive a Prismatic breakpoint of 10, replacing nine Mage. New items like the Golden Frying Pan increase the odds of players hitting Prismatic breakpoints through verticle traits, according to Mortdog.
- Breakpoint of 10: Mage units modified total ability power is 140 percent and Mage units cast more frequently. The maximum mana of all Mage units is set to 20.
Scholar trait
The Scholar trait is getting a rework through Patch 14.18 that adds ability power at each breakpoint. Mana gained per attack was reduced at the breakpoints of four and six.
- Two: Three mana per attack and 10 ability power
- Four: Five mana per attack and 20 ability power
- Six: 10 mana per attack, 35 ability power, and abilities heal an ally for 20 percent of damage dealt.
