The Golden Spatula, better known as a Spatula, is a TFT staple item mechanic that allows players to craft an Emblem for an Origin trait. Starting in Patch 14.18, you can begin crafting Emblems for Set 12 trait classes with the Golden Frying Pan. This new TFT mechanic expands the possibilities of crafting Emblems and will likely be available for testing through PBE servers after Patch 14.17 drops on Aug. 28. Here’s everything we know so far about the Golden Frying Pan, per Riot.

What are the TFT Emblems crafted with Golden Frying Pan?

Crafting with a Golden Frying Pan in TFT will create a class trait Emblem. Here are the recipes with an item component.

TFT trait Emblem crafting components
MageGolden Frying Pan and Rod
MultistrikerGolden Frying Pan and Bow
HunterGolden Frying Pan and Sword
WarriorGolden Frying Pan and Glove
ScholarGolden Frying Pan and Tear
ShapeshifterGolden Frying Pan and Belt
BastionGolden Frying Pan and Chain
PreserverGolden Frying Pan and Cloak
Tactician’s Cape Golden Frying Pan plus Spatula
Tacitcian’s ShieldGolden Frying Pan plus Golden Frying Pan

Crafting with item components isn’t the only way to exploit what the Golden Pan in TFT has to offer. And the Spatula is getting a buff when paired together to form a Tactician’s Crown.

  • Golden Frying Pan plus Spatula: Provides plus-one team size and a 10 percent chance to drop one gold after 10 seconds of combat.
  • Golden Frying Pan plus Golden Pan: Provides plus-one team size and a 10 percent chance to drop one gold when the item holder dies.
  • Spatula plus Spatula: Plus one team size, a 10 percent chance to drop one gold when you combat.

Placing all three Emblems with only a Golden Pan or Golden Spatula will unlock a special surprise.

How does Reforging a Golden Frying Pan work?

All Emblems are Emblems and are no longer considered craftable, thanks to the addition of the Golden Frying Pan in Patch 14.18. With this change, there are some new rules.

  • Reforging an Emblem will turn it into any other Emblem
  • Reforging a Spatula turns it into a Golden Frying Pan
  • Reforging a Golden Frying Pan turns into a Spatula
  • Reforging a Tactician’s item will win you a different Tactician’s item

How to get a Golden Frying Pan in TFT

Riot is adding a Golden Loot Orb to Carousels in Patch 14.18 which will contain a Golden Pan. These appearances will replace a Spatula from the Carousel around 50 percent of the time. Gold and Prismatic orbs will can also contain a Golden Frying Pan. And you can gain a Golden Pan from the new Charm called Conjure Frying Pan, which costs 15 gold and is available at Stage Four-plus.

The TFT balance team also added two new Portals to Set 12, allowing players to acquire a Golden Pan more often. The first Portal is called Frying Pan, which will start each player in the lobby with a Golden Frying Pan. The second new Portal is called Let em’ Cook, starting each player in the lobby with a Golden Spatula and a Golden Frying Pan.
