The highly anticipated Bleasdale Farmhouse rework is finally here, and it’s so much better than I could have ever imagined. What used to be one of my least favorite maps in Phasmophobia has become a location I never want to leave.
As an OG Phasmophobia player (legacy level 217 and proud of it), I was initially hesitant about the idea of overhauling one of the core maps. All my worries are now gone after spending some time in Phasmophobia’s first revamped house map.

The basic bones of the OG Bleasdale Farmhouse are still there, but I’d call it mostly unrecognizable overall. This might seem a bit intimidating if you’re a longtime Phasmophobia player, but everything about the new map looks, sounds, and feels so much better that you won’t miss the old one.
What truly sold me on the new look is the immense detail that went into it. On my first walkthrough, I spent just under 50 minutes exploring the entire building because there’s so much to see.
The new and improved Bleasdale Farmhouse has a whopping 21 rooms and three floors for you to explore. The old version had 16 rooms and three floors, so it’s not a big difference, but the new version somehow feels smaller and less confusing. The space flows better, so it’s also much easier to find your way around.

Motion sensor lights covered in flying moths greet you as you walk up to the front door. If you’re not prepared for it, as I wasn’t, they might give you a bit of a jumpscare before you even set foot in the house, setting the stage for what you’ll find inside.
As you enter the house and land in the grand foyer with fancy patterned green wallpaper, a cupboard under the stairs (regrettably occupied by a ghost instead of Harry Potter), and an array of paintings with golden frames, you get a true feel of the atmosphere in this farmhouse, although mansion feels like a more fitting word for this home.
If you turn left after entering, you’ll find a cozy and lavish pink tea room that I’d say is one of the best rooms in the entire house. I spent way longer than I should have staring at the walls in here because they’re adorned with plates that feature adorable furry friends owned by the devs and some Phasmophobia content creators.

As I continued my tour of the house, I found myself stopping frequently as I was captured by the scenery and other small details. In the perfectly cluttered kitchen, I found a silly cookbook called “Obake Off,” in the cozy living room, a freshly smoked cigar that still had smoke billowing from it, in the master bedroom upstairs, a terrifying mannequin I swear moved after I passed by it, outside, a pathway of stones leading to a hidden porch area, and so much more. There’s something to see no matter where you look, and I discover something new every time I venture to this location.
My absolute favorite area in the entire mansion is the secret witchy bedroom hidden behind a beaded curtain in the attic. It’s an easy room to miss if you don’t know it’s there, but it’s by far the coolest spot in the entire house.
The witchy bedroom has a collection of fun Easter egg posters referencing some key Phasmophobia features like the 42 Edgefield Road map, the Deogen ghost, and the “Demon of the Lodge.” The best one by far is a fake concert poster called “Phobia Festival” with a lineup that features ghosts and types of evidence. This room also has a collection of lush potted plants, various dreamcatchers dangling from the ceiling, and a dedicated Tarot Card table where you can also find one of Bleasdale Farmhouse’s Cursed Possessions.

We’ve had some map reworks in the past, but this is the very first one for a house map. And the others, which include the Asylum map becoming Sunny Meadows and the Maple Lodge Campsite map receiving a new layout and better design, just don’t compare to this one. This may partially be because I’ve always preferred small and medium maps, but I think it’s mostly due to the incredible realism of Bleasdale Farmhouse. Every inch of this home looks and feels so much more real than any of the other maps.
I don’t know if everyone will love this house like I do, but it’s already a contender for my favorite spot to investigate. I was incredibly skeptical about the devs’ plans to eventually rework every house map, but after seeing this one, I’m completely sold on the idea and can’t wait to see what else the 2025 roadmap brings to Phasmophobia.
