One of the trickiest parts of every Quidditch match in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is successfully capturing the Golden Snitch. It can be quite tough, but this is a skill you must master if you want to have any chance in the most difficult matches you face.
Mastering this skill isn’t easy since it has a fairly steep learning curve, but it certainly gets easier with practice. If you’re struggling to master this key Quidditch task, here’s how to catch the Snitch in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.
How to get the Golden Snitch in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions
Successfully catching the Snitch in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is a lengthy process that requires you to hunt down this ball over a period of time. You need to be proficient with the basics of playing as a Seeker before you’re able to catch it for your team.
Here is a complete breakdown of all the steps you need to follow to catch the Snitch.
- Wait for the Snitch to appear. I recommend focusing on other roles until you get the notification that the Snitch has appeared. At this point, finish up your play to get ready to swap, but don’t do it right away.
- To guarantee you get the Snitch, make sure you swap to your Seeker fairly soon after it surfaces. You don’t want to swap to them right away, though, so generally wait until around 10 to 20 seconds after the Snitch has appeared. If you swap to your Seeker too soon, you have to locate the Snitch yourself, which can be pretty time-consuming. But if you wait just a bit, your Seeker will lock on to it for you so they’re already in pursuit when you swap to them.
- Fly through every gold hope you can. You can’t catch the Snitch until your progress bar is full, and it fills up a lot faster as you fly through the golden hoops the Snitch leaves behind.
- Stay close to the Snitch at all times. Do your best to stick fairly close to the Snitch so you don’t lose sight of it or miss out on golden hoops. This requires you to boost as much as you can, so make sure you have one of the best brooms equipped on your Seeker to help with this. Staying close to the Snitch is how you fill up your progress bar so you can actually grab the Snitch.
- Drift around the corners of the field. The trickiest part of this chase is the corner edges of all of the pitches, so ensure you’re drifting around them or you’ll quickly fall behind.
- Grab the Snitch. Once you’ve stuck close enough to Snitch for long enough, the golden progress bar under the Snitch turns blue to let you know you can grab it. Keep following it and boosting until the option to swoop in and grab it appears.
Does catching the Snitch win the game in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions?
Although catching the Snitch almost always results in an automatic win within the world of Harry Potter, it does not grant a guaranteed win in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions. Catching the Snitch can result in an instant victory depending on the score, but it doesn’t always.
The only time catching the Snitch results in an instant victory is when your team has 70 or more points. The Snitch is worth 30 points and the match ends at 100 points or when the timer runs out, so if you catch it with 70 points or more in the bank, the match concludes as your team automatically wins.
This system is very different from how the Snitch works in the Harry Potter books and film, which means it may be confusing to you if you’re basing your gameplay on this knowledge instead. In both the books and film, the Snitch is worth 150 points and every Quidditch match can only end if it’s caught or the two captains agree to end it.
Since it’s worth so many points and captains hardly ever agree to end the match, it almost always results in a win unless the team who catches it ends up having fewer points overall when it’s caught. This system gets a bit confusing because of this, but luckily, you don’t need to worry about it in Harry Potter Quidditch Champions. All you need to know is that successfully catching the Snitch gets your team a solid amount of points sure to get you much closer to victory.
