I think you and I agree ICONs being available in an EA FC game is long overdue. While it’s fun to use present-day stars, build up a star-studded team, and try to establish a realistic legacy, it’s fun to kick back and indulge in a fantasy world.

EA FC 25 has taken the reins off and is allowing you to use some of the most gifted and celebrated soccer stars of the past couple of decades with ICONs in Career Mode.

Prepare to build your EA FC 25 Career Mode around the likes of Thierry Henry, David Beckham, and Andrea Pirlo, as there are more than a few world-beaters eligible for selection in the game mode.

Here’s a complete list of every confirmed ICON coming to EA FC 25 at some point or another:

  • Andrea Pirlo
  • David Beckham
  • Kelly Smith
  • Ronaldo Nazário
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy
  • Thierry Henry
  • Zinedine Zidane

How to use ICONs in EA FC 25 Career Mode

You should be able to add ICONs to your squad or sign them as a free agent once EA FC 25 releases and you begin a Career Mode.

EA had this to say concerning ICONs in Career Mode, “In Career Mode throughout the year you’ll be able to start your Player Career with a rotating selection of icons starting with Thierry Henry, Andrea Pirlo, Van Nistelrooy, and Kelly Smith.”

So, not every player is available straight from the get-go, and EA is going to rotate the roster of Career Mode ICONs as the year goes on—presumably to freshen up the game mode and give you reasons to start new seasons.

Pre-ordering the Standard or Ultimate Edition gives you immediate access to the terrific trio of David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Ronaldo Nazário. The three superstars were at the heart of Real Madrid’s mid-00s Galactico era, bringing with them silky football and outrageous soccer.

As for the rest, Andrea Pirlo had a glittering career lighting up stadiums in Serie A for years with AC Milan and Juventus, winning countless trophies and individual honors. Kelly Smith is definitely in the GOAT category when it comes to women’s football, as she dominated the English landscape with Arsenal and tore it up in America.

On the other hand, Ruud van Nistelrooy was a clinical striker who did all his work in the 18-yard box, racking up well over 300 career goals for top teams, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. Very little needs to be said about Thierry Henry—he’s an undisputed all-time great in the sport.

We know plenty more about EA FC 25, including how to get Club Membership rewards and how to start your Ultimate Team Early.
