While the official 5.0 livestream brought us a ton of new information about the upcoming Natlan region, there are certainly some takeaways that stand out from the rest. In case you missed the developers livestream, we’ve got you covered. Below you can find five biggest announcements from the Genshin Impact 5.0 livestream that you can look forward to.

5) New exploration mechanics

Exploring the open-world of Teyvat has always been one of Genshin Impact’s main features, and Natlan takes it to the next level. While exploring the new Pyro region, players will encounter creatures called Saurians. These are Natlan-specific inhabitants, and by performing a new indwelling mechanic, players can control them, which allows them to go underground, jump higher, surf on water, and even fly. Besides that, it’s confirmed that Natlan characters will have similar exploration mechanics to Saurians, practically mimicking them.

4) Increased World level and material drop

While exploration is certainly an essential part of Genshin Impact, it also goes hand in hand with the World level and material farming. During the livestream, the developer revealed that Genshin Impact is getting a new World level 9 with increased material drops from monsters and bosses. This is amazing news, because it brings a bigger challenge for players when facing opponents in the open-world of Teyvat, and more material drops means you can build your characters faster.

3) Epitomized Path weapon banner change

Ever since the introduction of Inazuma in version 2.0, players were trying their luck on the Epitomized Path weapon banner update. Now, their luck is about to turn completely, because starting in 5.0 Patch, Epitomized Path will be more generous than ever. While you needed a total of 240 pulls to get a guaranteed weapon before, in version 5.0, the Epitomized Path requires only one charged point. This means players need only 160 pulls to obtain the weapon of their choice, which is a massive quality-of-life improvement.

2) Capturing Radiance Mechanic

Although the weapon banner change is amazing, it gets even better. The Capturing Radiance Mechanic is a new tweak to the Limited Event Wish banner where players have an increased chance to win their fifty-fifty for limited characters. When you obtain a five-star character, the golden animation happens. Now, besides the golden glow, the animation also has an Intertwined Fate to it, indicating players lost their fifty-fifty to a standard five-star unit. The best part is that during the animation, you now have an extra five percent chance to convert your loss into a win, which allows you to obtain the limited five-star.

With Genshin Impact being out for almost four years, players always wondered if they would ever have the chance to obtain a free five-star character, and now it’s finally happening. From version 5.0 onwards, players can select a free five-star character of their choice from the standard banner. This will happen for every Genshin Impact anniversary from now on, which is September 28. While there are currently only seven standard five-stars on the standard banner, the developer confirmed they will add even more characters in future updates, which is great news.
