Crafting Emblems in Teamfight Tactics is about to get wonky with Riot Games teasing the Golden Frying Pan mechanic on Aug. 23, which is slated to drop onto the live servers through Patch 14.18.
One of the most powerful mechanics within TFT is the use of a Spatula to craft trait Emblems, whether you’re seeking to play a god-level vertical Set 12 comp like Eldritch or Portal. Emblems are also crafted to splash in powerful traits to end-game comps that are normally not possible. The launch of Set 12 featured fewer Spatula appearances, especially on Carousels. But crafting Emblems in TFT is about to change with the addition of the Golden Frying Pan, revealed by Riot on Aug. 23 through Twitter/X.
Little is known about the Golden Frying Pan at time of writing but there have been whispers within the TFT community. One theory, according to Twitter/X user Kayna, suggests the new pan will craft Emblems that were unavailable for crafting. Another Twitter/X user speculated the same theory while dropping potential crafting recipes. A Golden Frying Pan and a bow, for example, would craft a Multistrike trait Emblem.
What we do know is that “the Frying Pan is a powerful new tool to create more trait Emblems from eight Classes,” according to Riot. “It’ll also have new combos with the Golden Spatula and itself.”
Riot included four images within the TFT Golden Frying Pan tease, showing possible combinations. Much like two Spatulas creating a Tactician’s Crown, two Golden Frying Pans will also create something special. There’s even a chance to combine a Golden Frying Pan with a Spatula.
Fans will have to speculate about the uses of the Golden Frying Pan for a few weeks since Patch 14.18 isn’t slated to go live until Sept. 11. The next update, Patch 14.17, is set to go live on Aug. 28.
