Most of the side quests and activities in Spider-Man 2 are marked on your map and available in your FNSP app. But, there is one exception—Spider-Bots.
Insomniac Games developers prepared 42 of these little bots to find, and players will need to search New York City thoroughly if they want to claim them all, and the Platinum trophy you get as a reward. Luckily, while they aren’t pinpointed on the map, they will beam a rainbow-colored laser when you’re around.
The color of the beam itself looks as if it was inspired by Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie and its sequels. That’s the feeling I had when collecting Spider-Bots, and the ending to this errand only confirmed it, since it features one of the characters from the franchise.
We won’t get into details here, since it was one of the most wholesome features in Spider-Man 2 to experience for yourself. If you want to check out what’s the reward for finding all the Spider-Bots, except for the Tech Parts and the usual loot, go find them yourself.
All Spider-Bots locations in Spider-Man 2’s 14 districts were marked with purple squares. They can be found in different heights, though. For the most part, they are attached to buildings’ walls, found under the bridge, or floating above the rooftops. If you look carefully, though, you won’t have issues with finding them.
Although remember they won’t become available after one main story mission, after which you’ll get a call from Gankee regarding them. If you haven’t reached that point yet, don’t search for Spider-Bots, since they won’t appear.
We’ve marked every Spider-Bot location with an orange square so you know where to head next time you’re swinging through New York City.
