The original Red Dead Redemption is still beloved by many fans, but not everyone has had the opportunity to experience the game in all its glory.
PC players have been waiting for years for a potential port of Rockstar’s western action game, especially since Red Dead Redemption 2 has enjoyed a fruitful life on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Even owners of the Nintendo Switch have been able to experience John Marston’s epic adventure. Rumors of a PC port started swirling around earlier this year when internal files hinted that the game would be coming to the platform, but not much else has been revealed since then. Now, an accidental post on the PlayStation Store is making waves and causing these rumors to ramp up again.
As reported by PC Gamer, eagle-eyed gamers noticed the information page for the PlayStation 4 version of Red Dead Redemption on the PlayStation Store stated “now on PC for the first time ever.” In addition, the description also detailed a slew of “PC-specific announcements” that include support for increased framerates and surround sound. The Red Dead Redemption page on the store now doesn’t feature any of this, but that didn’t stop screenshots of the previous info page from making the rounds on X/Twitter.
It’s ironic that another leak for a potential PC port of Red Dead Redemption came from the PlayStation Store of all places. Now, it will be interesting to see how Rockstar responds to these rumors. They could choose to ignore them altogether, or they could do what they did when the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer got leaked and just confirm the information themselves (while possibly taking action against whoever made this mistake behind the scenes).
