Persona 3 Reload‘s myriad of Shadow enemies can catch you unprepared if you aren’t ready for them. One recurring Shadow is the Minotaur, which spawns in multiple variations. The first variation, Minotaur IV, shows up towards the midgame, so it would be best to learn its weaknesses before you fight.
Does Minotaur IV have a weakness in Persona 3 Reload?
The Minotaur enemies in Persona 3 Reload hit progressively harder with every variation. The initial Minotaur IV is relatively straightforward to defeat because it has one key weakness: Ice. This beefy Shadow also completely nullifies Fire, so make sure you don’t waste any Agi skills on this enemy.
Minotaur IV hits quite hard with its heavy Herculean Strike attack. For Personas weak to Fire, beware of its Agilao skill that deals medium Fire damage. Any angelic Personas or Personas generally weak to Dark would also do well to avoid its Eiga attack.
Now that you know what you’re up against, here is a general strategy that will help you defeat this enemy.
How to defeat Minotaur IV in Persona 3 Reload
As mentioned earlier, Minotaur IV has a severe weakness to Ice. This means you will have to bring out all of your best Bufu-based Personas. At this stage of the game, having the second-tier single-target Ice spell, Bufula, would be very helpful. Any form of damage amplification like Makakaja or Tarukaja will boost your stats and improve your damage even further.
Lastly, round off your setup with a strong Mind Charge Persona, preferably the highest Ice damage Persona in your stock. This is the Persona that will be the target of all of your buffs.
Next, you will need compatible companions to help you take down this Minotaur variation. At first glance, Mitsuru with her powerful arsenal of Ice spells is a perfect addition. However, Mitsuru is also weak to Fire damage, so make sure she stays protected with Dodge Fire or Makarakarn to repel magic damage. You have a few other suitable choices for your remaining teammates.
If Junpei is leveled up enough, he can be your source of tanking up against Minotaur IV’s physical and Fire damage. For support, Yukari can be your primary healer while Akihiko is a jack of all trades, alternating between secondary support, healer, and damage dealer.
Pick your highest-leveled teammates and whittle down Minotaur IV by landing constant all-out attacks, and you should be able to farm these Shadows in no time.
