How to start the End of Summer event in Disney Dreamlight Valley

It's a bit of a secret event.

There’s always something to do around the village in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but sometimes it can be tricky to figure out how to get certain tasks started. This is the case for the festive End of Summer event which is a tough one to begin if you’re unaware of it.

You certainly don’t want to miss out on the special rewards you can earn by participating in this event since they’re all exclusive and will likely never be available again. Here’s how to start the End of Summer event in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

There’s no official quest to begin the End of Summer event in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but the best way to get started is by gathering Pink Marshmallows and Blue Marshmallows. Both are available to find around your valley from Sept. 4 to 26, so there’s plenty of time to get started and work through this event.

Collecting marshmallows is just one of many steps you need to complete to fully finish the End of Summer event, but you can’t do anything else in this event until you obtain them. No quest for the event will pop up when you start to gather them, but you’ll have all the items you need to get going.

While there are plenty of guided quests to complete like The Lesser Evil and A Taste for Literature, this is a hidden event with no associated quests to finish. Instead, all of the tasks are secret, although there are two officially listed tasks in the Dreamlight Journal and a letter with some recipes in your mailbox.

The tasks in your Dreamlight Journal ask you to Savor Some Sweetness and Share Some Sweetness. And if you open your mailbox, you’ll find two recipes you can use in the event, but both of them call for marshmallows, which is why it’s best to start by gathering them.

In total, there are five rewards you can earn throughout this event plus two special recipes you can make. Both Pink Marshmallows and Blue Marshmallows are event-exclusive items, so once it ends, you won’t be able to obtain them anymore. Because of this, you should try to earn all rewards while the event is active or stock up on them to craft and cook the associated rewards after it ends.

As you work through the End of Summer event, it’s a good idea to work on the Dapper Delights Star Path at the same time. Both events conclude right around the end of September, so make sure you’re completing both to avoid missing out on exclusive items.
