Riot Games dropped a teaser for Teamfight Tactics tarot cards on Aug. 7, leaving many fans excited and confused.
As TFT continues to grow, so does the merchandise available to fans. The Riot shop is packed with plushes, from classic Poggles and Choncc Plush to Power chord Ao Shin. There’s even a shirt and hat celebrating five years since the autobattler launched. Tarot cards for TFT were not on my bingo sheet, though, as I’m used to seeing that type of product for games like MTG. But Riot surprised everyone today with a teaser of Set 12 champions on tarot cards through X (formerly Twitter). The new cards, however, are only available in the Americas regions, according to Riot.
Many fans are confused about why the TFT Set 12 cards are limited to the Americas region. Others could care less about region availability, or the purpose of a Teamfight Tactics tarot deck, as long as the cards are collectible and will fit on display shelves.
“Imagine this — a commemorative collectible set of cards representing all the champs of a given set, and the cards are foiled, textured, awesome looking,” said an X user.
Each tarot card has the TFT symbol in the top left corner, while the trait symbol is on the far top right. The names of champions are in a banner at the top with a full art image below, the name of the trait, and text that taps into the flavor of Magic n’ Mayhem. Some of the champions on tarot cards revealed so far include Diana, Gwen, Nomsy, Camille, Varus, Morgana, Xerath, Kalista, Norra/Yuumi, and Briar.
Details for the TFT tarot card deck are minimal at time of writing regarding a release date, price, or treatments applied to the cards.
