Riftbound Spiritforged: Everything we know about Riot’s next LoL TCG expansion

From the release date to where to pre-order.

Riftbound, Riot’s new League of Legends trading card game, already has a ton of buzz. While some players are still frantically buying booster packs from the first set, others are eagerly anticipating the next one. Spiritbound introduces 200 new cards, including champions like Ezreal, Lucian, and Rumble. It releases in China soon, but the English version isn’t far behind.

Riftbound Spiritforged release countdown

The English version of Riftbound Spiritforged is expected to drop on Feb. 13, 2026. The Chinese version, meanwhile, comes a couple of months earlier. It should be here in December. Here’s a countdown to the exact date.

What to expect from Riftbound Spiritforged

As well as over 200 new cards, Spiritforged will include two decks you can play right off the bat and three new mechanics. A total of 12 new Spirit Blossom-themed Overnumbered cards will also be available in the set.

All Riftbound Spiritforged products

The first set included a Proving Grounds box, containing everything you needed to learn the game. Spiritforged will only include decks for Fiora and Rumble—as well as booster packs, of course. You should also be able to buy Spiritforged in a case containing 24 packs.

All new mechanics in Riftbound Spiritforged

Spiritforged introduces three new mechanics: Equipment, Gold, and Repeat. These mechanics will help build upon Origins and hopefully spice up the meta, providing players with new options in their decks.

  • Equipment: This new card subtype is the main new mechanic in Spiritforged. Equipment can be attached to units to make them stronger, and they remain in play even if that unit is killed.
  • Gold: Gold tokens are featured by Draven. You can “spend” them to get the Power resource, which is a required cost to play some cards.
  • Repeat: Spells with effects that can be doubled if you pay their cost a second time.

It’s interesting to see familiar faces from League of Legends like Long Sword, Doran’s Shield, and even Blade of the Ruined King making their debut in Riftbound.

All confirmed legends in Riftbound

Here’s a list of the confirmed legends making an appearance in Spiritforged. While we don’t have images of all the cards, Riot gave us a sneak some of the legends we’ll see in the next set. There were 12 legends in Origins, and there will be 12 in Spiritforged.

  • Irelia
  • Fiora
  • Rumble
  • Ezreal
  • Lucian
  • Draven
  • Azir
  • Sivir
  • Renata Glasc

I’m personally excited to try an Azir deck. I can imagine overwhelming my opponent with an army of unstoppable Sand Soldiers. Stacking up the battlefields with his minions sounds like a lot of fun. Easy wins!

How to pre-order Riftbound Spiritforged

It’s still a little too early for Riftbound Spiritforged pre-orders in North America, but a surprising number of stores in Europe are already listing the next set. If you’re on another continent and desperate to get the set before anyone else, you could pre-order from Europe, but I recommend waiting until it’s available in your region. We’ll update this article when more pre-orders are available.

For now, here are a few pre-order options for Europe-based stores:

How to buy the Chinese version of Riftbound Spiritforged

If you absolutely can’t wait for the English version of Riftbound Spiritforged, nothing is stopping you from buying some Chinese booster packs—except maybe your bank account.

While I personally don’t recommend it, you can buy packs, decks, and more from platforms like eBay and AliExpress. This will likely come with a considerable markup and probably a hefty delivery fee, and you won’t even be able to read them unless you speak Mandarin. Get ready to learn Chinese, buddy.
