Bizarre Spider-Man 2 bug has player dying in the game’s menu screen

Skill issue.

A Spider-Man 2 fan was in for a surprise when they encountered a strange bug in the main menu where Spider-Man repeatedly died.

On Oct. 24, a Redditor posted a video of Spider-Man 2’s main menu with a voice line of Spider-Man playing together with a splatter sound indicating the character has died. The main screen even restarts automatically when it happens.

The funny part of this bug is that this is only in the main menu of the game. The player isn’t playing the game and yet their character is already dead. A player mentioned this is probably the wildest bug they’ve ever seen in the game.

Another player who was a little bit more inquisitive asked whether the start screen is also present in the game—more specifically whether the scene is on the world map. It was promptly answered by OLKv3, who revealed it was in fact in the game. It was also apparently in the previous game. The player speculated the bug was happening because Spider-Man was falling into the void somewhere.

Spider-Man 2’s release is riddled with bugs that span from being a cube to players encountering installation errors if they install the game using a physical disk. There’s even a thread on Reddit dedicated to bugs players are facing. As of now, most of the bugs aren’t game-breaking, and let’s hope they stay that way.
