Persona 3 Reload gave players close to 100 hours of intense battles and comforting social events. With the release of the base game’s expansion, Episode Aigis, it would be helpful to know how many hours of playtime the game provides, and whether it’s worth the price.
Playtime of Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis
Episode Aigis adds on anywhere from 10 hours to 30 hours of additional playtime, depending on the difficulty level you play and if you choose to complete Elizabeth’s requests.
If you’re playing simply for the sake of the story and are not worried about 100 percent completion, you can speedrun through the majority of the game’s content within 15 hours on Safety or Easy difficulty. However, this will require you to skip through most of the enemies and only go for the bosses, thereby leaving you under-leveled, making it a strategy that only works optimally on the easiest of difficulties.
If you want more of a challenge and enjoy difficult battles, playing on Normal or Hard difficulties should scratch that itch, taking up your playtime to about 20-25 hours instead. The battles in Episode Aigis can be quite challenging, but thankfully, the enemies tend to share the same weaknesses as their counterparts do in the base game. The only exception here are the bosses unique to the expansion.
If you find yourself stuck at any point, our guides will help smoothen your progression.
For total completionists, finishing the expansion’s main story and completing all of Elizabeth’s requests will easily take you up to 30 hours. This playtime can be reduced by summoning a few strong Personas stored up from the base game. However, summoning these Personas is more expensive than they normally would, so make sure you have the cash for it.
Now that you know how long the game is, the question has to be asked: Is it worth buying the expansion?
Should you get Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis?
Episode Aigis adds a lot of value to the base Persona 3 Reload experience by further fleshing out the main cast’s storylines and adding several new battles to the game. The original plot’s cliffhanger ending is also fully expanded upon in this expansion. If you want to experience a conclusive finale to the game, including learning the fate of a certain character, Episode Aigis will fulfill that wish.
Even if the expansion is considerably shorter than the base game, it still provides enough depth and playtime to warrant a playthrough if you were a fan of the original game.
