The Overwatch community has seen what appears to be Baptiste’s first emote and highlight intro in an update to the character’s hero page.

Blizzard Entertainment added a clip to the top of Baptiste’s hero page, showing off animations that appear to be an emote and highlight intro. The emote animates Baptiste as he fiddles with his eyepiece. His robotic arm then appears, and the two briefly look around before the arm disappears again. The highlight intro shows Baptiste using his Exo Boots to launch himself into the air before turning around and shooting a healing projectile from his Biotic Launcher.

The Overwatch developer first introduced Baptiste to the world with the release of a short origin story detailing the character’s background on Monday. Orphaned by the Omnic War, Baptiste joined Talon but later left the organization to provide aid for those impacted by the war.

Baptiste was released on the game’s Public Test Region shortly after, where players got their first look at the hero’s abilities. As a combat medic, Baptiste joins the cast of healers, but introduces a unique support kit to Overwatch.

With his Biotic Launcher, Baptiste can dish out damage but can also heal allies with his secondary fire. One of the character’s abilities, Immortality Field, creates a cylindrical field that prevents allies from falling below a certain health percentage. Baptiste’s ultimate creates a holographic wall amplifying any of his team’s damage and healing that passes through it.

While Baptiste remains on the PTR, his cosmetics have yet to join him on the testing server. Overwatch heroes typically release with a few different highlight intros and emotes, so players will have to wait and see what other animations Baptiste will receive ahead of his release.
