All Overwatch 2 hero pick rates

Know who's seeing playtime, almost in real time.

Choosing the right hero in Overwatch 2 can be the difference between advancing your rank or seeing the Defeat screen at the end of a match. Knowing heroes’ pick rates can help gauge the better option for each scenario.

Every player is bound to have their favorite heroes, but looking up the pick rates and win rates for a character can guide you to potentially unexplored additions to your hero pool. For instance, seeing Zarya has a high win rate in Grandmaster and above might lead you to practice the devastating gravity-based tank.

Here’s where you can find official information on Overwatch 2‘s hero pick rates and a brief snapshot of what they look like at the time of writing.

Blizzard makes all pick rates available on its official stats website, where you can sort by role, region, map, and even input method, but it has a unique calculation.

The website displays pick rate as “the total playtime of each hero as a percentage of the total playtime of all heroes,” so the stat isn’t a straightforward rate. Instead, all data summed up amounts to 500 percent, based on the five-vs-five format.

“The idea is to model the average appearance rate of a hero within each of the five possible slots in a team,” a Blizzard employee explained on a Reddit comment. “It feels more intuitive that a hero that is always played and never not played should in theory be 100 percent usage.”

Unsurprisingly, Wuyang is dominating the pick rates on both quick play and competitive role queue, though Kiriko is close behind him in ranked. At the time of writing, the most recent official data reflects the patch that introduced the water-based support, so the novelty is bound to give him a higher pick rate.

Top Overwatch 2 hero pick rates (Competitive, role queue)

Here are the five most-picked heroes in Overwatch 2‘s competitive mode in the Americas server, based across all ranks:

Wuyang dominating the pick rates is pretty predictable, but in competitive, Kiriko follows him quite closely. Rein remains a good all-around pick, but he starts dropping slightly in Master and above.

Orisa is an outlier: an oft-picked hero with a low win rate on all levels. Cassidy takes over the picks for damage.

We’ve listed the five heroes topping the pick rate charts for each role in Quick Play (Americas).

If Wuyang was at the top of the food chain in competitive, his presence in quick play is even bigger, and he’s by far the most picked hero comparing numbers of all roles.

Ana and Mercy skyrocket among casual gamers, while there’s quite a bit of a shake-up across tanks between casual and competitive.
