Overwatch 2 Stadium: Best Zenyatta build

True strength comes to those who accept their weaknesses.

Zenyatta is one of the newest additions to Overwatch 2’s Stadium game mode, and he’s a deceptively lethal support hero. The omnic monk quietly amplifies your team’s damage output, while offering clutch heals that can swing the momentum of any teamfight.

Each Overwatch 2 Stadium match has two supports that form the team’s backbone. Unlike traditional supports like Mercy, who rely on supporting the team with a constant stream of heals, Zenyatta likes to deal lethal damage to make the job for the DPS players easier. However, he also comes with several weaknesses. Fortunately, these can be effectively minimized by selecting the right powers and items for him in Stadium mode.

Zenyatta plays a rather unique role in Stadium, and you must pair him with a reliable healer who can support the team while you help your team take down priority targets. While you can also build Zenyatta to become a reliable healer using his Harmony Orbs in Stadium, I’ve personally had more success leaning into his damage side.

You can enhance his Orb of Destruction through various powers and items, turning our Nepali monk into a formidable threat. Boosting his damage output while adding just enough healing makes him a surprisingly durable assassin who thrives on picking off high-value targets with precision and efficiency.

Powers

Like other Overwatch heroes in Stadium mode, Zenyatta can select a new power every other round to fine-tune his build. If the match goes down to the final round in the series, you’ll get to choose four powers total. These powers give you the flexibility to shape Zenyatta into more of a dedicated healer or a bruiser-style support, depending on your choices and playstyle.

PowersDescription
Inner Peace
Gain a Harmony Orb that is always attached to you. It heals for 75 percent less.
It’s Orbin’ Time
Orb of Destruction’s secondary fire can charge up to three additional orbs.
Seeking Salvation
Orb of Destruction’s secondary fire projectiles home when aimed at a target below 35 percent life.
Circle of Strife
While using Transcendence, apply Discord Orb to all enemies within range.

One of Zenyatta’s biggest drawbacks is its lack of self-healing. You can’t always rely on the other support to keep you alive, as that would leave the rest of your team without crucial sustain, making it essential to find ways to bolster your survivability through powers or smart positioning. Choosing Inner Peace allows you to use the Harmony Orb on yourself and get a constant stream of healing to sustain through the enemy poke.

After that, you get your power spike at round three with It’s Orbin’ Time, increasing the number of orbs you can charge to disperse burst damage on the enemies. You can go one step further and take Seeking Salvation, which makes your projectiles decimate the low-health targets on the enemy to take down their healers and DPS heroes. Circle of Strife is the final power that you can take, which helps your ultimate not only heal your allies but also apply Discord Orb to all enemies, giving a clear window for your team to go aggressive and shift the momentum of the match, which is critical to win the decider.

Items

You also gain credits based on your performance in the rounds, and you can spend them to get different tiers of items. As you get more credits, you can sell the green and blue items to get more powerful purple ones, but we’ve given the ones that you should definitely pick up, and you can always remove some to change the build according to your matchups.

ItemsDescription
Plasma Converter
10 percent Weapon Lifesteal (Snap Kick, Orb of Destruction)
Heartbeat Sensor
5 percent move speed. Enemies below 30 percent Life are revealed to you.
Stockpile
5 percent Attack Speed and 25 percent Max Ammo. (Orb of Destruction)
Transference Protocol
25 Shields. When you charge an orb with Orb of Destruction’s secondary fire, restore three percent of your life.
Genji’s Galvanic Gloves
10 percent weapon power (Snap Kick, Orb of Destruction) and 10 percent attack speed (Orb of Destruction).Orb of Destruction’s secondary fire charges 20 percent faster.
Haste Subroutine
15 percent attack speed. After using Harmony Orb or Discord Orb, gain 100 percent Projectile Speed for three seconds.

The Plasma Converter helps you add that early sustain to your build, while the Heartbeat Sensor allows you to see low-health enemies to finish them. It also synergizes well with the Seeking Salvation power. For the blue items, go for Stockpile because it allows you to get more ammo for a slight boost in attack speed.

Next, you can take the Transference Protocol, which is great for getting shields and also a little health back every time you charge your secondary fire. In terms of purple items, you can get Genji’s Galvanic, which makes your weapon shoot faster while also packing a bigger punch. At this point, you can start shredding through enemy tanks as well if you can hold your ground.

Lastly, stacking additional attack speed with Haste Subroutine increases Zenyatta’s rate of fire, allowing his Orb of Destruction to deal consistent, high-pressure damage that can quickly overwhelm enemies. You can also get something with more sustain if you feel that you have enough firepower in your arsenal and sell the cheaper items to get more purple ones in the late game.
