To unlock the Brewing Barrel in Once Human, you have to make your way to the Memetics tree and go to the Logistics tab. After that, scroll your way down to Integrated Kitchen and unlock it if you haven’t already. Then, you can open the Brewing Barrel by spending seven Ciphers and 2000 Energy Links. Once you have done that, you will also unlock a variety of recipes that can be prepared using the barrel.

- Corn Ale: One Corn, two Purified Water.
- Malt Ale: One Wheat, two Purified Water.

While you can find the food ingredients in the wild, you can prepare the Purified Water in your base by connecting your rainwater harvester to your water storage and purifier using a wire. The Ale, whether Corn or Malt, keeps you hydrated and restores your sanity significantly for a set time. This drink especially comes in clutch during boss battles and visiting highly polluted areas when your sanity drops quickly, giving you a variety of unwanted debuffs.
