A little wildlife addition.

Once Human introduced the feature to tame animals in its latest update, and you simply have to expand your base to accommodate these new friends.

Most animals in Once Human can be tamed and, once captured, they give multiple benefits like producing supplies, getting unique traits, and fighting alongside you to add another dimension to your firepower to neutralize strong enemy deviants. Here’s everything you’ll need to know about taming animals in Once Human.

Once Human taming animals guide

1) Unlock Animal Capture trait

To start taming different animals in Once Human, you need to unlock the Animal Capture trait in the Memetic Tree by using Ciphers and Energy Links. Once unlocked, you get access to a whistle and Tranquilizer Throwing Needle. Now, head to your supplies workbench and craft many Tranquilizer Throwing Needles by spending eight Engineering Plastic, five Rubber, three Stardust Source, and three Steel Ingots.

2) Sneak up on the animals and capture them

After ready, head to the wildlife areas to catch yourself an animal. Once you locate an animal, sneak up on them by crouching and observing the line on their health bar. Start dealing damage to them with a weaker tier-one or two weapon to bring their health below the marked line. Once it’s below the line, equip your Tranquilizer Throwing Needle and throw it at the animal. If it’s a hostile animal, it should be easy to hit them.

On the other side, if it’s a non-hostile animal like a Buck, it’ll be harder to hit as they run away after being damaged; get ready on the quick trigger for these creatures.

Once you land one or more needles on the animal of your choice, it will be sedated and lie down on the ground. Now, walk to the animal and capture it to add it in your inventory.

3) Start taming

From here, to start the Once Human taming process, make an enclosed area with an animal trough to deposit their favorite food and water and place your animal in the space to help them adapt to the new environment.

You need to keep their hydration and energy levels high to slowly tame them. As the tameness level of the animals reaches 50, it should start producing supplies for you, and combat animals like crocodiles and bears should help you in your battles. If the animal’s hydration and energy levels drop, their tameness level will also decrease. So, make sure to always look after your animal’s needs and provide them with their favorite foods.

The developers will also add breeding in the future, so keep that in mind while your hunt for the perfect animals for your farm and army continue.
