Stardew Valley creator wants a Fortnite collab with the last character you’d expect

Go from farming turnips to farming kills.

Stardew Valley is the face of the increasingly pervasive cozy indie game genre. Fortnite is the face of the increasingly pervasive free-to-play battle royale genre. Putting them together might sound downright oxymoronic, but at least one party is interested—just not in the way you might expect.

Fortnite doesn’t solely collaborate with its fellow industry powerhouses, as other indie hits like Among Us and Lethal Company have previously made it through the vaunted doors of the Battle Bus. If solo Stardew developer Eric Barone, AKA ConcernedApe, has anything to say about it, though, the next character to join Jonesy on the battlefield will be none other than boozy, curmudgeonly bus driver Pam.

According to Discord correspondence with YouTuber Panedwards, Barone has “been trying to” set up this collaboration, with his heart specifically set on Pam—a desire that supposedly arose from an inside joke between friends and the bizarre mental image of a squad made up of four identical Pam skins. Heaven on earth, if you ask me.

Pam isn’t the end-all be-all for Barone, though. In the same message, Barone said he’d be “open to anything,” specifically name-dropping Abigail and Sebastian as other potential candidates. He even had his own Mythic items to pitch, like Joja Cola (which would presumably function identically to Nuka-Cola) and the ultra-rare Galaxy Sword.

As fun as it would be to play as any of the svelte bachelors or bachelorettes of Pelican Town, at the end of the day, Pam is the only character I can envision mercilessly mowing down a squad with an assault rifle in hand (except for maybe the Wizard, who could come as part of a bundle). Add that to the fact that so much of Fortnite‘s core gameplay revolves around buses, and I think we just might have found Pam her new happy place.
