The second teaser for Fortnite: Battle Royale’s season nine has just been published by Epic Games on Twitter. “The future is bright,” the company tweeted, with an image showing what seems to be yet another upcoming skin of the new season’s Battle Pass.
The new teaser image comes exactly 24 hours after the first one that was published yesterday, which revealed a robotic character with horns. Apparently, season nine will have a futurist or space theme.
Not a lot is confirmed for season nine, though. We know the Battle Pass will once again cost 950 V-Bucks, according to data miners. Players will only be able to acquire it by paying its cost, unlike this season’s pass that some could get for free by completing season seven’s Overtime challenge.
Season nine should also bring new areas to replace Tilted Towers and Retail Row, or at least give both of them a full makeover to make up for the destruction the volcano eruption caused last weekend. The smog that is covering the Fortnite island now should also be gone, revealing the full aftermath of the volcano eruption and uncovering what happened to the volcano itself.
Fortnite’s season nine starts on May 9, most likely at 4am CT like in previous updates. That’s when servers will be turned off for maintenance and deployment of the update and when players will likely be able to read the full patch notes of the new season.
