The Infernal Compass is essential in Diablo 4 if you want to enter the new Infernal Hordes mode. But getting and farming for these compasses can be challenging if you don’t know what to do or where to look. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your hands on this key collectible.
How to get Infernal Compasses in Diablo 4
In Diablo 4, most endgame content has a chance of rewarding you with an Infernal Compass, such as completing Nightmare Dungeons, opening any Helltide Chests you find, and collecting rewards from the Tree of Whispers caches.
You can even get them from the Seasonal Journey rewards caches, specifically Diablo 4 Chapter Four and onward. But the best farming method is Nightmare Dungeons.
Although I’ve found I can get a decent number of Infernal Compasses by completing Helltides, the Nightmare Dungeons are the best to farm for these compasses. There are two reasons for this priority, including:
- In my experience, you can get at least one or two compasses per Nightmare Dungeon run. It’s not guaranteed, but I’ve found it a consistent way to get compasses.
- Nightmare Dungeons offers a way to upgrade Glyphs from your Paragon board. When you’re in the endgame, upgrading these Glyphs is key.
While there are a few methods for getting Infernal Compasses, completing Nightmare Dungeons is the best way to farm them. These Nightmare Dungeons are the best way to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak because you not only gain Infernal Compasses, but you can also level your Glyphs.
If you’re tired of running Nightmare Dungeons, and it does get tedious, try Helltides and open Tortured Chests. You may not always get a compass, but you’ll get a lot of loot and can even snag a Forgotten Souls, which is very important for crafting.
Some players have found two or three Infernal Compasses from Helltide Chests. So, it’s certainly a good alternative if you’re bored of Nightmare Dungeons.
I’ll update this article if I find more endgame content that drops compasses.
