Apex Legends players found an item today during a match that could be related to the game’s reportedly upcoming Legend, Octane.
Player jetblacklab shared an Xbox One screengrab of a small green platform on the ground that had several arrows pointing toward its center. They said they found it near the Market area and that it looks a lot like the leaked Octane ultimate ability, Launch Pad. Octane’s leaked ability description reads that it’s a “deployable jump pad that catapults users through the air.”

The player also shared a video of him and his friends moving toward the green platform and being catapulted through the air, exactly like how Octane’s leaked ability describes the way his jump pad works.
This is already enough for fans to theorize that developer Respawn Entertainment is teasing Octane by placing this jump pad in an area of the Apex island. Even so, a Respawn developer commented on the Reddit thread with a smirking emoji, which was enough for a few users to interpret it as a confirmation that Octane is coming soon.
Past events also indicate that Octane is real. Three days ago, a few players spotted an image on the game’s PC platform Origin that clearly showed Octane. He was next to a text that said “Welcome to the Wild Frontier,” which named Octane as Apex’s next Legend and mentioned the release of the season one Battle Pass.
Even so, Respawn has yet to confirm a release date for Octane.
