World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic phase four just rolled out on Oct.10 with the Random Dungeon Finder and Titan Rune Gamma dungeons. This, naturally, resulted in rising levels of toxicity, and I believe this proves why Mythic+ solo queue would never work.
With the release of the phase four patch, WoTLK Classic players got the long-awaited RFD feature that now allows them to queue for Titan Rune dungeons, WoTLK Classic’s version of Mythic+ dungeons. Ever since Blizzard combined Titan Rune dungeons and RFD, more and more players have been reporting getting kicked from dungeons, and getting the Dungeon Deserter debuff that prevents them from queuing for 30 minutes.
If you ask me, this is exactly what Mythic+ solo queue in Dragonflight would look like if Blizzard was to ever implement it. For example, you would queue up, and end up in a group with random players. At first, it could go well, but, when the first pull goes south, players would start fighting, flaming, and of course, kicking each other from the group. To make matters even worse, Mythic+ dungeons are timed, and players would be under a lot more pressure to perform well, and the situation could escalate even more quickly.
Mythic+ solo queue isn’t really coming to Dragonflight and it’s just a concept fans have been discussing for a while to get rid of needlessly long queue times, especially for the DPS. That said, Blizzard definitely needs to look at the balancing and queue times in Mythic+ dungeons because it’s been terrible since Augmentation Evoker was introduced to the game and they now take up a guaranteed slot. Hopefully, Blizzard has more ideas than I do.
