How to playtest The Sims Project Rene
To sign up for The Sims Project Rene playtest, you need to join The Sims Labs. There’s no way to guarantee you’re invited for a playtest, but the only way you have a chance is by signing up.
Here are the steps you need to follow to have a chance of being invited.
- Visit The Sims Labs.
- Sign in with your EA account.
- Accept the playtesting conditions.

There are lots of questions to answer, ranging from general information about you to more specific questions like which games you’ve played from a selection including Stardew Valley, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Animal Crossing. Once you’re done answering questions, you’re officially good to go, but you can complete one additional step to potentially boost your odds of being chosen.
Visit The Sims Labs again, make sure you’re signed in, and select the Update your Playtesting Preferences option. The message right next to this says you can “improve your chances of being selected” by providing this information.
The first Project Rene playtest is scheduled for the fall of 2024, which means it should happen sometime between September and November this year. Based on the blog that was shared unveiling the playtest information, it seems there will likely be many more after this one too, so be sure to sign up as soon as possible to have the best chances of being invited at some point in the future.
While you wait for a playtest invite for Project Rene, there’s still plenty to do in The Sims 4. You might try finding and meeting the wealthy weirdo, completing the Ring Bear quest, and rescuing Axolotls.
