Season nine is inspired by Chinese culture, both ancient past and cutting-edge future. Fangwei City combines influences from across the country into one megacity, from skyscrapers and temples to urban blocks. The map has distinct zones, making it easier to navigate, especially if you’re a newer player.

New mode, Point Break

Point Break is a new core mode in THE FINALS where two teams of eight attack and defend objectives. It’s essentially Rush from Battlefield – attackers must destroy all objectives in the sector to move the front line, while defenders try to stop them. It’s competitive, directed, and has less pressure compared to smaller modes.

World Tour overhaul

The World Tour has always been the go-to destination if you want to jump right into the action. In season nine, World Tour receives a makeover, becoming a hub that features all modes, with each one contributing to your seasonal progression. This includes Ranked, even though it still has its own progression path. The updated map also shows everything you can expect on the World Tour journey throughout the season.

Flexible sponsors

Since the introduction of sponsors back in season four, you could only sign with one sponsor per season, and the choice was final. Starting in season nine, you can sign with any sponsor at any point and change them whenever you want, allowing you to grind out as many rewards as possible.

Double Jeopardy

Apart from multiple quality-of-life changes, there’s a small new mechanic called Double Jeopardy. Doubling a Cashout now kicks off a mini-event, which will cause the team that initiated it to lose money if they don’t finish the job.

Season nine introduces several performance optimizations, Smooth Destruction improvements, new rewards and ways to unlock them, and of course, a battle pass featuring skins inspired by Chinese history, folklore, zodiac, and more.
