Overwatch 2’s World of Warcraft collab skins celebrate the MMO’s most iconic characters

Oh, these are absolutely beautiful.

Azeroth is set to invade Overwatch 2 with a perfect team-up of Blizzard Entertainment properties. New skins are coming to the hero shooter, revealed today in a new trailer.

The Overwatch 2 x World of Warcraft collaboration features four skins: Lich King Reinhardt, Thrall Zenyatta, Sylvanas Windrunner Widowmaker, and Diamond Magni Torbjörn in a celebration of two of Blizzard’s most popular worlds. The skins are immaculately crafted to pay homage to WoW while still remaining true to the OW2 heroes. Widowmaker stuns as Sylvanas Windrunner, Zenyatta leers thoughtfully as Thrall, and Torbjörn shines in a Diamond variant of his already-existing Magni skin.

Torbjörn’s skin is the most disappointing of the four, considering he already has a Magni skin as part of a previous collab. This new one seems to be a recolor of that older skin, which feels like a wasted opportunity to have another hero get their own WoW costume.

Reinhardt, once again, is the real winner of this collab, after getting the honor of becoming Optimus Prime in OW2’s previous Transformers collab from last season. Starring as the Lich King, Reinhardt sports the character’s trademark helm with glowing eyes, skull-adorned armor, and massive, elongated version of Frostmourne to cut down enemies.

The four skins will release later on this season in OW2, along with a blog and gameplay trailer next week ahead of launch. It’s possible even more will come from the collab, such as challenges to unlock items like sprays, voice lines, and other cosmetics.

The collab skins are likely to be pricy, available both individually and as part of a bundle as previous collaborations have been presented in the OW2 store before, such as the aforementioned Transformers, One Punch Man, and Cowboy Bebop.

OW2’s season 12 is ongoing, with season 13 set to come some time in October. The WoW collab goes live next week on Sept. 17.
