Planned seasonal updates and additions include several game modes, maps, heroes, and gameplay changes. The most recent hero addition to Stadium is Freja, who is set to arrive with the Season 16 midseason patch.

Many heroes will follow her in subsequent seasons. They include Junkrat, Sigma, and Zenyetta, who will be added to the game mode in Season 17. They will then be followed by Sojourn, Winston, and Brigitte, who will be added in Season 18. After Seasons 17 and 18, more heroes are planned to be added in Season 19 and beyond, so it’s safe to say every season will see more heroes being added.

New maps and game modes coming to Overwatch 2 Stadium

The Stadium roadmap shows what maps you can look forward to across several seasons. The next two maps that will be added to the game mode in Season 17 are the Esperanca and Samoa maps. They will feature the Push and Control modes, respectively. Season 18 will see the addition of the new Route 66 and London maps, while Season 19 will feature the new China map.

Blizzard also revealed several game modesm, including custom modes in Season 17, and the new Payload Race to be added in Season 18. Payload Race will be featured in two maps, but additional details about it have yet to be revealed.

Blizzard Entertainment opened its roadmap post by revealing that the development team is focusing on keeping things balanced and competitive. A few tweaks based on feedback, including hero balance updates, are planned for the future. The Overwatch 2 Stadium roadmap also reveals several gameplay changes that will be added to Stadium across several seasons.

The first and perhaps the most notable of which is Unranked Crossplay. Stadium previously prevented players on different platforms from grouping up, but will soon be possible with this change.

Another new game system are the shareable and saveable builds, which will make creating builds convenient. It will be added in Season 17, which will also include more example builds for you to analyze or replicate.

Season 18 will add new All-Star rewards, Endorsements, and the Stadium Trials. Finally, Season 19 and beyond will feature new item system upgrades. The season will also add new consumables and the Draft Mode Feature.

It’s unknown whether these new content will be added at the start of each season or throughout the seasons.
