MTG Duskmourn digital and Commander release date details

The horrors are coming, and we can't wait.

A plane of magical horrors called Duskmourn is dropping into Magic: The Gathering as the final 2024 Standard-legal set.

As with most MTG sets, the name of the plane is the same name assigned to the set. Duskmourn the plane is home to the imprisoned Valgavoth demonic entity, according to Wizards of the Coast. Valgavoth controls the house he’s imprisoned in and with the additions of newly formed Omenpaths across the Multiverse, the demon is luring in new victims to satisfy his hunger. The house Valgavoth is imprisoned in is essentially alive, creating spaces like the Boilerbilges and Hauntwoods.

Here’s everything you need to know about the horror-themed launch of MTG Duskmourn.

The MTG Duskmourn set is the final Standard-legal set of 2024. Much of the Standard meta has changed with the release of Bloomburrow, and I expect another meta shift to occur once Duskmourn drops.

Four Commander Precon decks are also included in the release of the MTG Duskmourn set. Details are limited at time of writing but here is what we know so far.

  • Miracle Worker Duskmourn Commander Precon in the colors Blue, Black, and White
  • Jump Scare Duskmourn Commander Precon in the colors Blue and Green
  • Death Toll Duskmourn Commander Precon in the colors Black and Green
  • Endless Punishment Duskmourn Commander Precon in the color Black and Red

Three of the four Duskmourn Commander preconstructed decks are in two-color MTG pairs, with MIracle Worker showcasing three colors.

This article will be continually updated with new MTG Duskmourn: House of Horror information once it becomes available, so be sure to bookmark it. And if you haven’t checked out MTG Madness, subscribe before August ends to enter the giveaway for a Squirreled Away Bloomburrow Commander Precon deck.
