How many P Switches are in Mario Kart World?

Hoping to find every P Switch in Mario Kart World? Here's a complete guide to the full P Switch count to help you pick them all up quickly.

One of the most exciting changes that Mario Kart World introduced is its Free Roam mode, which lets players explore the wide, open world as their favorite character. This mode features plenty for collectors and completionists to sink their teeth into, mainly in the form of P Switches.

A total of 394 P Switches have been recorded by the community in Mario Kart World. At the time of writing, our own research has taken us just under this number and we’re hunting for the last ones—we’ll be sure to update with further details.

Some community members have theorized that there may be 400 P Switches or that they’ll be added later on in the game’s life, but nothing official has been confirmed about this.

Completing 10 P Switch mini-games is a necessity for unlocking Mirror Mode, alongside other tasks like clearing the Grand Prix Cup, Knockout Tour Rally, and Special Cup on 150CC, so they’re worth hunting down if you want access to every game mode on offer.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to visually pinpoint the location of P Switches that you’ve found using the map in Mario Kart World‘s Free Roam mode, making collecting them all a little tricky.

You can find a tally of your found collectibles in the map’s bottom-right hand corner. To make finding them much easier, we’d suggest splitting the map into quadrants and approaching the challenge piece by piece as you explore.

Southwest P Switches

Out of all four map quarters, the southwest has the most consistent spread of P Switches, meaning you can roam around each biome and gather them up steadily.

Northwest P Switches

There are plenty of P Switches to round up near the lava lakes and rivers in this quadrant, although you won’t find too many near the shorelines. The forest and meadow sections have a fair amount of blue buttons to track down, but not quite as many.

Northeast P Switches

There aren’t as many P Switches in the northeast section of the map, with the most densely populated area being the forested sections towards the north.

Southeast P Switches

Finally, the southeast quadrant of the map is lush with P Switches for you to run into and collect. They’re scattered fairly evenly throughout, with plenty in the central area.

If you’re hoping to 100% Mario Kart World, it’s not just P Switches you’ll want to track down in Free Roam Mode. You can also find Peach Medallions scattered around the map—200 of them in total—along with Question Panels, both of which will help you unlock Mirror Mode.
