Quarry and Lime Kiln are coming to Manor Lords

STONE AND LIME!

It’s been a full year since the launch of the early access of Manor Lords, the debut title from Slavic Magic. The solo developer celebrated this milestone with a lengthy post on Steam confirming the team’s expansion with a few more developers, artists, and designers.

In addition to the studio expansion, Greg from Slavic Magic confirmed several new features planned for Manor Lords, including the addition of the Quarry and Lime Kiln as part of the stone updates.

Quarry and Lime Kiln buildings in Manor Lords

Currently, players need to build a Stonecutter Camp to mine stone, but two new relevant buildings are being introduced in the upcoming updates for Manor Lords.

  • Quarry: The quarry is constructed on rich deposits for endless stone mining.
  • Lime Kiln: Lime is a new material being introduced to Manor Lords, which can be extracted at the Lime Kiln.

Lime will be required for advanced stone construction. Stone is used in the construction of several advanced buildings, and I’m expecting its use to be increased with the addition of the Quarry, which will allow for easier mining and ideally, a lower workforce.

Upcoming content highlights for Manor Lords

In addition to these structures, there is a lot more coming to Manor Lords with the next few updates.

  • River fishing: If there is a random pond resource node and a river in a region, the typical river fishing spots will replace the pond.

  • AI improvements: The AI in Manor Lords will now be able to build and run a small village.
  • Records view: A new screen is now ready to provide detailed information about regional production and consumption.

  • Upkeep system: Several new buildings will now require upkeep. For example, the smithy will need a constant flow of tools, while the deep mines need a flow of planks.
  • Improved pathfinding, camera, and progression rework. Some of the level one castle pieces have been updated as well.
  • Manuscript-inspired UI: Some of the work in progress graphics now have proper manuscript-inspired art. This also extends to the map resource node locations.
