Online video games are always prone to hiccups, but some errors can be annoying, thanks to how vague they are. The 103003 error code, for example, announces it’s a launch error and denies access to the Escape From Tarkov servers, leaving players no clue what to do.

We know how frustrating it might be, but don’t worry. There are a few workarounds you can try to fix the error, and we have jotted down all of them below for your convenience.

The 103003 error usually indicates server unavailability in Escape From Tarkov. You and your fellow soldiers may face it right after new updates or server wipes, and this may happen despite the official server status page showing everything’s up and running as it should.

For example, at the time of writing, players reported a major 103003 breakout after the developers deployed Patch 0.15.0.0. As a player on the client side, you can’t fix an internal or server error, so if you see reports of the error popping up in your region and beyond, you’d be better off logging in after a few hours.

That said, the 103003 error may also appear due to an issue on the player’s side. Thankfully, the workarounds below are all you need if that’s the case.

Run the Battlestate launcher as an administrator

Running the launcher as administrator should fix the 103003 error in Escape From Tarkov for you. Simply right-click on the launcher icon and select Run as administrator. If this doesn’t fix the error, go on to the next workaround.

Verify integrity of game files

In the Battlestate Games launcher, click on the Game Settings drop-down menu and select Integrity Check. Let the process complete before checking if the error persists.

Update your system’s graphic drivers

Check for a pending update to your system’s OS and graphic drivers and complete them if necessary.

Check your network

Network hiccups can also cause the 103003 error to pop up, so make sure you are connected to stable internet. If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, try switching to a direct ethernet connection.

Check if your system’s anti-virus is blocking the game

Disable the anti-virus software you use for a while and try loading into a game of Escape From Tarkov. If this solves the issue, you know the culprit.

If this is the case, make sure Escape From Tarkov and the Battlestate Games launcher are allowed through your anti-virus firewall to avoid such errors.

If none of the workarounds work, you can submit a ticket for a curated resolution from the developers.
