Yeartide Apex god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

It's The Huckleberry, but Solar.

We’ve already seen Destiny 2 use The Huckleberry’s model for a Legendary weapon in the form of Boondoggle Mk. 55. While that was an underwhelming weapon, the Yeartide Apex is a Solar counterpart with all the perks you might want.

Yeartide Apex is a Solar Lightweight Frame submachine gun. This puts it in the same category as some of the best PvE submachine guns, including Imminence, The Recluse, and Multimach CCX. As a Solar weapon, it has access to all the Solar perks and a surprise perk from the Salvation’s Edge raid, Chaos Reshaped.

Here are our Yeartide Apex god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

What is the Yeartide Apex god roll in Destiny 2?

Yeartide Apex PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk one: Heal Clip
  • Perk two: Incandescent or Chaos Reshaped
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Yeartide Apex PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk one: Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Target Lock
  • Masterwork: Range

In PvE, you ought to go all-out on Solar synergy. Heal Clip in the third column grants Cure to you and nearby allies when reloading after a kill. This is a fantastic perk for any hard content, especially if you’re playing above Master difficulty in your Power leveling.

While Incandescent is always a go-to perk to spread clear adds, there are a few other options. Chaos Reshaped made its way from being exclusive to Salvation’s Edge raid weapons and grants a 20 percent damage buff after being in combat for 12 seconds, increasing it to 35 percent if you hold the initial buff for 12 seconds.

Burning Ambition is also present on Yeartide Apex. It applies scorch to enemies when dealing sustained damage. It can be strong when paired with something like Amber of Ashes that increases the number of scorch stacks you apply, but the base version feels weak compared to Incandescent.

Crucible enjoyers have very limited options, with Lone Wolf and Target Lock being the only viable (but potent) combination. Lone Wolf grants aim assist, increasing the effect when no allies are nearby. Target Lock increases damage the longer you remain on target, and on submachine guns, it actually reduces the overall time-to-kill from 0.73 seconds to 0.67 seconds.

Yeartide Apex is a part of the Solstice 2025 event in Destiny 2. There’s no Bonfire Bash anymore; instead, you can run activities in the Portal that have a Distorted Solstice Engram as a bonus reward. These can drop gear as high as Tier 4 and Tier 5, even if you’re still leveling.

Alternatively, you can play the Solstice Scorched PvP playlist, where everyone is using scorch cannons to fight opponents across multiple modes, including Clash, Control, and Rift. Solstice Scorched has two Distorted Solstice Engrams as a reward, but also takes longer to complete.
