Players agree The First Descendant must copy Destiny, Warfarme’s best weekend features

A few weekend freebies would go a long way.

The First Descendant players who are feeling the pinch when it comes to resources or weapon parts believe a solution to their problem exists in fellow looter shooters Warframe and Destiny 2, and more particularly their special weekend vendors.

Destiny 2 players flock to Xur every weekend for a cool set of Exotic gear, enhancement material, and uniquely rolled equipment, while Warframe players keep up with Baro Ki’Teer every two weeks for rare relics and weapons. With so many resource requirements in The First Descendant, players feel Nexon should look into adding their own version of a weekend vendor and have made their demands clear on Reddit this week.

“As it stands, our extra descendant and weapon parts are useless,” the post’s author said, believing the spare gear could go towards trade with a vendor for rerolled modules or amorphous patterns players have been on the grind for. “We already have many systems from other successful looter shooters—why not add this one too?”

Others suggest a way for players to grab cosmetic items from such a vendor, given there’s no way to earn different parts of an outfit apart from the cash shop. Some even suggested having an existing NPC be this new weekend vendor, with Deslin the likely candidate given the stuff he sells is pretty useless after the first few levels. “I thought his shop would update when you beat the story but nah, he still is selling level one shit.”

As a Destiny 2 main, Xur—especially his rework in The Final Shape—has made build crafting and gearing up a whole lot easier thanks to his freebies, and definitely encourages more time earning the necessary currency to pick up a great Exotic roll or an Ascendant Shard. He’s even had his moments in the sunshine, such as the infamous Gjallarhorn sale a decade ago which saw players get their hands on one of the game’s rarest and most coveted rocket launchers.

The First Descendant is a very grindy game, but surely Nexon can spare one or two hard-to-get resources a week? This would keep people coming back if it meant they could make extra progress on unlocking an Ultimate weapon or another descendant altogether.

Until then, we The First Descendant players will just have to spend our next weekends spamming more Void Intercepts and praying to the RNG gods.
