There are multiple ways for you to show off your commitment to the grind in The First Descendant, from fully built Ultimate Characters to cosmetics from the Void Abyss Intercept Battles. The latest addition is for the top percent of grinders, and that’s Medals.

How to equip Medals in The First Descendant
To equip a Medal in The First Descendant, open your inventory and select your name in the top-left corner as if you were to change the title. In the new Medal tab, you can see all unlocked Medals and equip them. Medals display next to your name in third-person view as well as on any social tabs in the game.

Awards Medals
At the time of writing, there are 16 Awards in The First Descendant that award Medals. You can track them in the Medals section of the Journal’s Awards tab. Each objective requires you to put a lot of playtime into unlocking and leveling up multiple Descendants, Ultimate weapons, and more.
Some of the objectives grant the same Medals. Each time you earn the same Medal, its level increases and appearance changes, further showcasing your commitment to the grind.

Challenge Medals
There are three more Medals in the game, and those are tied to endgame challenges in The First Descendant. To get these Medals, you need the best builds for your Descendants and Ultimate weapons, as well as god roll Reactors and External Components.
Here are the Medals and their associated content:
- Ingris Prime Challenger Medal: Challenge mode of Void Erosion Purge.
- Intercept Battle Prime Challenger Medal: Challenge mode of Void Intercept Battle.
- Axion: Prime Challenger Medal: Wall Crasher intercept battle in Axion Plains.
These Medals are awarded based on your Leaderboard rankings in respective modes. In the case of the Wall Crasher intercept battle, the Medal is awarded based on the contribution.
