Luna is a support character who can buff nearby allies’ Skill Power and MP recovery, as well as reduce their skill cooldowns. She’s different from other support-type characters in The First Descendant (like Enzo or Yujin) as there’s almost no damage involved.

Here are all of Luna’s skills in The First Descendant:

  • Improvisation (passive): Hitting Notes with skills increases the Inspiration Gauge. When Inspiration Gauge is full, you can use Enhanced Skills with increased effects. Using an Enhanced Skill fully depletes the Inspiration Gauge.
  • Stage Presence: Luna switches to the Synthesizer Gun and activates Notes on the screen. Hitting the Note in time by shooting or using another skill grants the Perfect Pitch effect, increasing Skill Power.
  • Passionate Stage: Increases Luna’s and nearby allies’ Skill Power while the skill is active. Enhanced Skill grants allies increased Skill Critical Hit Rate and additional Skill Critical Hit Damage.
  • Relaxing Act: Recovers MP upon hitting Notes and successful attacks. Grants Relaxing Sound effect to nearby allies, recovering MP per second while the skill is active. Enhanced Skill grants allies immediate MP Heal, HP Recovery per second, and reduced Skill Cost.
  • Delightful Stage: Increases Inspiration Gauge upon hitting Notes and successful attacks. Grants Cheerful Sound effect to nearby allies, reducing Cooldowns for the duration. Enhanced Skill also resets all ally skills.

Playing Luna is like playing a rhythm game. Your gameplay loop is to use Stage Presence, then hit Notes and activate other skills at the right time to increase the Inspiration Gauge. You can use the same skill multiple times if you don’t want to switch buffs. Once the Inspiration Gauge is full, use Enhanced Skills for even greater buffs.

Best Luna weapons in The First Descendant

Luna uses her Synthesizer Gun most of the time. Even though it has limited ammo, using a skill to hit a Note adds more ammo, so you can keep the party going forever. Because of this, it doesn’t matter much which weapon you’re using as long as it matches your Reactor requirement.

Best Luna Modules in The First Descendant

Everything in Luna’s kit revolves around her keeping skill uptime to buff allies as much as possible. You barely deal any damage to enemies, so don’t focus on offensive stats. Some of the buffs scale with MP, so make sure to maximize your MP with Modules.

Other important stats include Skill Effect Range to increase your AoE and Skill Duration to extend the duration of applied buffs.

dps build:

The Noise Surge Transcendent Module transforms her into a DPS character, allowing her to deal damage in an AoE rather than buff teammates. If you’re using Noise Surge, prioritize Skill Power, Skill Critical Hit Rate, and Skill Critical Hit Damage across the entire build.

Here are some of the recommended Modules for Luna:

ModuleEffect
Increased HPIncreases Max HP
Increased DEFIncreases DEF
Skill ExpansionIncreases Skill Effect Range
Maximize RangeIncreases Skill Effect Range but reduces Skill Power Modifier
Frugal MindsetReduces Skill Cost and increases Skill Effect Range
Skill ExtensionIncreases Skill Duration
Maximize DurationIncreases Duration but reduces Skill Power Modifier
EnlightenmentIncreases Max MP
Energy CollectionIncreases MP Recovery

Best Luna Reactor in The First Descendant

The Reactor doesn’t matter much unless you’re using Noise Surge Transcendent Module for a DPS build. Luna can get a buff to her Synthesizer Gun through Skill Power, but that’s often not the priority.

Go for a rare Reactor (since she won’t be able to use the Ultimate weapon mounting) with the Non-Attribute and Tech Power Boost Ratio.

Here are the stats to look for on the Reactor for Luna:

  • Skill Effect Range
  • Skill Duration UP
  • Skill Cooldown

The Hungry Sonic set was added alongside Luna and is made specifically for her kit. The four-piece set allows you to stack additional MP Recovery and increase Skill Duration by using your normal and Enhanced Skills.

Here are the stats to look for on Luna:

  • MP Recovery Out of Combat
  • MP Recovery In Combat
  • Max MP
  • Max HP
  • HP Recovery Modifier
