Dr Disrespect is already plotting a streaming comeback just weeks after admitting to messaging a minor and disappearing from the internet, with the disgraced content creator today telling fans he’ll be “back soon.”
“Vacation is just too good right now… We’ll be back soon though Champs. We have lots to talk about,” the streamer wrote on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the “Yayaya” phrase that usually represents him laughing. At the same time, Dr Disrespect seems to have scrubbed the apology he’d shared in June where he admitted to sending messages “verging on inappropriate” to an “individual minor” through Twitch whispers.
This comeback plan comes less than a month after the 42-year-old posted a mysterious image that depicted him playing chess against an unseen opponent that was competing with checker pieces (unlike the original apology, this July image has not yet been deleted). He was widely lambasted for the post at the time, but that fan blowback doesn’t seem to have dented his plans in any meaningful way.
Similarly, streaming fans are already voicing their biggest concerns around the two-time’s now-imminent return. Some called for YouTube—where Dr Disrespect may return—to “protect the kids” while others suggested “no one needs the return arc.”
The big question now is where the disgraced streamer will actually return. YouTube quickly demonetized the streamer’s profile, which has 4.61 million followers, after the apology and he’s obviously still banned on Twitch forever.
Newcomer Kick shapes as one likely destination, especially after the two publicly courted each other last year. Whether the green-branded streaming site wants to tie itself to Dr Disrespect’s brand after this controversy remains to be seen; it hasn’t pre-emptively banned the creator yet, but may still choose to.
