The roster was awarded a distinction for their win at the Oct. 15 OGN Super Match, where the roster (then known as Lunatic-Hai) took first place in a best-of-five finals match against Cloud9 Kongdoo. The two Chinese teams, Lucky Future and Miraculous Youngster, came in fourth and fifth in the tournament.

The organization showed off the award in a Twitter post. “An award from the mayor of Seoul? We are proud to be Seoul’s team. Thank you,” Seoul Dynasty wrote.

In July, the French government similarly put its support behind France’s Overwatch World Cup team. French politician Denis Masséglia sent a letter of well-wishes to the team ahead of the Overwatch World Cup Shanghai group stage.

Seoul Dynasty will soon head to Los Angeles to prepare for the first season of Overwatch League. Preseason exhibition matches are scheduled to begin Dec. 6. Regular season matches begin Jan. 10, with Seoul Dynasty taking on Dallas Fuel in their opening match.
