After ending the Overwatch League’s first homestead weekend with an 0-2 record, Los Angeles Valiant parted ways with their assistant coach Shin “Dongsu” Dong-soo today.

Dongsu joined the team alongside Mike “Packing10” Szklanny as an assistant coach in February ahead of stage one. The Los Angeles-based team failed to find success at the start of the season, however, and parted ways with its former head coach Moon Byung-chul in March after ending stage one with a 0-7 record.

The Valiant then moved Packing10 to the role of interim head coach and added former Florida Mayhem assistant coach Marvin “Promise” Schröder to its coaching staff a month later.

Shortly after adding Promise as an assistant coach, the team broke its losing streak in a match against Atlanta Reign in week two and picked up its second win of stage two against Washington Justice in week three. Most recently, however, the Valiant attended Dallas Fuel’s Ultimate Weekend, where they fell to Seoul Dynasty and Dallas Fuel, failing to find success in the league’s first home games.

Only three spots remain in the Overwatch League’s stage two playoffs. Although they hold a 2-4 record in the stage so far, the Valiant still have a chance to qualify for the stage playoffs in the final week of the stage when the team faces off against Chengdu Hunters on May 4 at 7:15pm CT.
