Hwang “Fl0w3r” Yeon-oh is heading to Los Angeles to join his Overwatch League team, New York Excelsior.
The South Korean DPS superstar won’t be able to participate in the Overwatch League until his 18th birthday on May 14, however—but it’s likely he’ll assist in team practices until he’s able to move off the inactive roster. Fl0w3r posted a photo from the airport to Twitter about his departure from South Korea.
A world-renowned player formerly known as nanohana, Fl0w3r played for both LW Red and LW Blue before joining New York Excelsior’s inactive Overwatch League roster. He’s got multiple championships to his name, including Overwatch Apex Challengers’ season one, Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi, and the Overwatch World Cup 2017. Fl0w3r is widely considered one of the best DPS players in Overwatch, and his absence from the Overwatch League’s opening matches will not go unnoticed.
There is potential for Fl0w3r to play with New York Excelsior’s Overwatch Contenders team ahead of his birthday, but that remains unclear at this time.
