Lies of P dev’s earnings report suggests DLC delay

Players may have to wait a bit longer.

Lies of P is one of the most successful and critically acclaimed Soulslikes in recent years. As such, it’s no surprise that a DLC was announced to be in development quickly after its launch. However, it seems that the extra content has now been delayed from its expected release window.

Publisher Neowiz’s earning reports from the first quarter noted that Lies of P‘s upcoming DLC is slated for a 2024 release, specifically in the second half of the year. As highlighted in a Reddit post, however, the publisher has not mentioned the DLC in its recently released report for Q3 2024, suggesting that it may have been internally delayed.

As the timeframe for the DLC’s release is almost here and no details about it have been revealed, it’s fair to say that the title will not launch this quarter. However, as noted in the post, the earnings report only highlights details for the Q3 pipeline, so more details about the DLC and a potential late 2024 release date could be revealed soon, like at Gamescom 2024, as Neowiz has a booth at the event.

Lies of P launched in September last year, to great critical and commercial success. The game sold one million units by October 2023, and it was also nominated for several awards across many categories, winning multiple Gamescom Awards for Best Action Adventure, Best Roleplaying Game, and Most Wanted Sony PlayStation Game.

The game’s DLC was announced in late October 2023, and several images were revealed showing new locations that will likely be featured in it. Additionally, a sequel to the game was confirmed to be in development at the same time as the DLC. Details about the sequel and its launch date are also still shrouded in mystery, though.
