The changes to Battle.net are mostly in line with what was available in the beta earlier this month.

The app now has a social tab, dramatically improving on the previous chat features within the app. Players can now chat in channels, with audio and text chat, with administrator settings and other standard chat room features. Players can also create profiles and share links.

In addition to these new social features, and the long-requested appear offline status for it, players can now gift in-game purchases to each other for the first time.

Anything from Hearthstone packs to Overwatch loot boxes can be sent to other Battle.net users. So if you’re struggling for what to get your game-playing buddies for Christmas this year, Blizzard has you covered.

To celebrate this new gift-giving feature, Blizzard is giving every user a gift to get them started. If you visit the new gifts page, you’ll see a free Classic set Hearthstone pack waiting to be claimed. Who doesn’t love free stuff?

Hearthstone players won’t have to wait much longer for even more free stuff either—Twitch Prime users will get a free golden pack next month.
