A countdown timer has appeared on TVs in Fortnite’s Switch version

What could this timer be teasing?
This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

A mysterious countdown timer has appeared on televisions in Fortnite’s Nintendo Switch edition. It came out of nowhere without fanfare, and it appears to be ticking down to zero, which should happen on June 19. Strangely enough, it’s nowhere to be found on the other versions of the game, with the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile versions of Fortnite completely without the timer.

Players began making note of the timer, which started appearing in-game today, but there’s no indication as to what it could potentially be teasing a reveal for.

It’s bizarre that this is only happening in the Switch version at this time, with no indication of a timer in the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, or mobile editions of Fortnite. It would be intriguing and helpful for players slighted by having their PlayStation 4 accounts locked if this were a countdown to some sort of resolution for that issue, but that’s highly unlikely, of course.

In addition, it appears that the lair is displaying a hologram that looks like it could be teasing an impending rocket launch.

Judging by the loading screen that players received after completing all seven blockbuster challenges, it’s safe to assume this all could be related to a rocket launch, and perhaps the Switch version of the game got an update earlier than others. Or maybe we’re counting down to some sort of Switch-specific content.
